Modifications of cabinet composition since 2012:
On 13 June 2012, it was announced that Nafsiah Mboi will be appointed as the new Health minister after her predecessor Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih had past away on 2 May 2012.
On 7 December 2012, Andi Mallarangeng stepped down as Minister of Youth and Sport Affairs because of his alleged involvement in the "Hambalan corruption case". He is replaced by Roy Suryo.
On 21 May 2013, Chatib Basri (former head of the BKPM) was installed as Indonesia's new Finance Minister. Former Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo resigned in March 2013 to become Governor of Bank Indonesia (per 23 May 2013).
Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's second United Indonesia Cabinet (2009-present) consists of 34 ministries and three ministerial-level officials. This cabinet constitutes a broad-based coalition between six political parties:
• Democrat Party (PD)
• Golkar
• National Mandate Party (PAN)
• United Development Party (PPP)
• Prosperous Justice Party (PKS)
• National Awakening Party (PKB)
• Democrat Party (PD)
• Golkar
• National Mandate Party (PAN)
• United Development Party (PPP)
• Prosperous Justice Party (PKS)
• National Awakening Party (PKB)
Each of these parties deliver a number of ministers but approximately half of all ministers are 'professionals' (technocrats) with an academic background, and who are not affiliated with any political party. Technocrats usually enjoy more popular support in Indonesia as politicians from political parties are often associated with perceived and wide-spread political corruption.
